That piece on William Joel really spoke to me; I can remember a convo on the socials with an old college acquaintance who said, with much exasperation no doubt, “Oh, now you don’t like the Eagles anymore, either?!? I thought you were into music and stuff!” Just because I was subjected to the Eagles (as one was when growing up in the 70s) and knew the majority of their music, didn’t mean I liked it. When the Dude begged the cabbie to turn off the Eagles I stood and cheered.
