Thanks very much for giving me arguments I can use with reasonable people to argue that Israeli military policy is unacceptable, while at the same time trying to avoid being labeled as anti-semitic, which I most certainly am not. I like and admire authentic Jewish identity, but I will continue to insist that does not include endorsement of murder.
I am not Jewish, so I will not jump into the middle of this complex and existentially-consequential situation. However, I am human, so feel justified in saying that what has been going on in Gaza and Lebanon constitute war crimes, or crimes against humanity. In addition to shocks to the conscience, is what has been occurring in Gaza and Lebanon really the way that the majority of Israelis want their nation to look on the world stage?
It's been a while since I read it, but I think Hannah Arendt attempted to make a similar point in Origins of Totalitarianism. You do it a hell of a lot more concisely, though! Also, she was unacquainted with the specific suckiness of Dan Goldman.

Polls suggest it very much is, unfortunately. It’s pretty bleak.
In the US, though, support for Israel among Jews has plummeted.
I thought I saw some coverage of massive protests in Israel not too long ago. Maybe that was over hyped.
