For what it’s worth I emailed this to my son - who is a pretty hardcore student of comics. He thanked me and me a response and within a longer reply described Jack Kirby as “the architect of Marvel Comics, (and can convincingly be argued of modern comic books)..”

Back a few decades ago, Tech TV's X-PLAY game review show had a recurring bit they trotted out whenever they talked about Mavel tie-in games, "Roger, The Stan Lee Experience!". They had one of their producers impersonate Stan Lee with a white wig, matching mustache and glasses, and he stood up in front of brick backdrop (as was common in comedy clubs of the time), mostly reminiscing into a microphone about all the ways he screwed over Jack Kirby both literally (by banging his unnamed wife) and figuratively (by changing his stories, or taking his name off issues and firing him).

I think this bit, along with many of X-PLAYS other comedy bits (many of those using Morgan Webb to comment on the sexism against women gamers), came from the show's then-Head Writer Blair Butler. I always wondered if she knew somebody in Jack Kirby's family personally, or if she was simply aghast at how eager to take ALL the credit for Marvel's Sixties/Seventies high points Stan Lee was....
