Knowing his full story puts his famous words into a wider and complicated context. He didn't "speak out" because he was apathetic, but because he was genuinely discriminatory and racist. It wasn't until there was "no one left" to help him that he realized his mistake.

An outstanding analysis of a quote, which used to appear simple on the surface.

Fear of anything different is a developmental stage in which infants and young children universally start.

I think one of the tasks we all face as we mature, is learning to deal with folks who are seduced back into that early stage.

Thanks so much for thispiece!

THEY may think so, but they've made it clear they're all spineless idiots!
