You are on the right track. DC and if they want it, PR statehood should be high up on the list. Hell, if Trump wants Cuba so bad, let’s admit the states of East Cuba and West Cuba too. (I’m mostly joking.) Expanding the House is also high on my list. And a robust anti-gerrymandering law for the 2030 census.

Having 52 states and not 50 will certainly lead to a rebalancing of power which some will like and others will not...

Absolutely correct! The cowardly status quo dems just can’t seem to grasp that their failed formulas will continue to fail. Actually leaning into our supposed values and pushing forward is the way to move forward. Doing the things we say we want to do is the way to get things done. And fighting MAGA deviousness with our own strategies that also advance our ideals (DC statehood, empowering the vulnerable, etc.) is the way to make progress. Why does all this seem so hard for the pundits to grasp? Is it because they never actually shared these values? I’m gonna go with “yup.”

Dems could ALSO lead with a big idea - universal healthcare, period. F "expanding access" and every other watered down version of it. Dems screwed up, big time by throwing in with Wall Street & the health industry for campaign $. Their feeble affordability economy was all they had left to offer in 2024 that wouldn't offend the donor class.

I'm tired of being told I have to settle for scraps bc of "realpolitik" or whatever the consultants are selling. Rs get to demand the most radical right wing bullshit like overturning Roe and getting it. Meanwhile, centrists Dems scold us for asking for what every other industrialized nation has. This idiotically wealthy country needs to do better for its citizens.

the big thing that has watered down D health care efforts is R obstruction.

messaging isn’t going to help with that, imo. but procedural radicalism might.

Thanks, Noah. I'd like to believe that the Democratic Party would be more radical if they actually support helping the people in this country. What works in NYC might not work in Atlanta. What works in California probably wouldn't work in Tennessee. But making clear to people that securing justice and prosperity for all, with solutions to secure these things should be a unified goal.👊👊👊💙💙💙🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
