I think you should be writing film reviews for the Guardian in the UK.
A client once told me the advice he got when he asked his parents the secret to their long marriage.
“A community of friends and relatives who know and love you both. That gets you through the times when you wonder Why you married this person.”
I used to write for the Guardian in the US with some regularity. Then editors switched, and haven't written much since...
And now I understand, last month the guardian sold their Sunday paper The Observer out from under the staff writers without warning or consultation.
It may be that dropping you triggered a gradual but catastrophic course of horrible decline.
alas, they dropped me because they were aware no one would care!
