Love these annual lists! I've rarely heard of more than a few, and while most are not my thing there's always a few new happy discoveries. Jlin, Mdou Moctar, and Cedric Burnside were my faves this time around. :)
When I woke up and saw Noah's list in my inbox, I resolved to listen to all 30.
That's the only New Year's resolution I have made this year, and I kept it! I can't say I appreciated them all, but what a great way to start the year.
I haven't listened to most of those; as always I appreciate that your music posts cover a wide range of artists.
I am curious, the 2024 album that I've enjoyed most (from a fairly small list) is Willie Nelson's latest, and I wondered what you thought of it. I think it's a well done album and has some excellent mediation on aging, mortality and loss which I expect to return to over the years.

Yay!
Were there any you liked?
Yes.
Tomoko Mukaiyama, Look to the East, Look to the West, Untitled Composition for Cello and Piano, The Godfather of Desert Blues, Colle Voce, Fire!
Testament, Cowboy Carter (the only one I knew ), Akoma, Hurray for the Riff Raff
The Past Is Still Alive.
Those aren't ranked and I couldn't. I did listen to Jumper all the way through while doing my stretches, but I can't say liked it.
well that's a pretty good batting average!
I guess the drone sludge isn't for everyone...

You know, I'm not sure I've heard it! I'll have to check it out...
I think it's quite good. I'll be curious what you think.
