I’ve been vacillating on ending my subscription- I do enjoy the daily newsletter they send out. However, remaining complicit with their fascist tactics, which you have made aware of, makes me sick. So I’m out. Thank you for the excellent writing.

This reminds me of Marisa Kabas’s story about fascist Chris Rufo’s take down of President Claudine Gay at Harvard because she wouldn’t pledge allegiance to genocide against Palestinians.

yep. parallel dynamic.

I ended my subscription when they wrote ten million front-page articles on “Biden is old” and buried the obvious cognitive decline/dementia of Trump 45 paragraphs into a story on page seventy-never. Also, being urged to negotiate human rights with fascist eugenicists is a hard no.

My God. This right here is why I am and will foreseeably remain a paid subscriber. Thank you for your excellent reporting.

What happens at the New York Times thus happens at every other newspaper in America...

Is this an update on an article you wrote a year or so back, Noah?

I mean, you're right, but—the NY TIMES has been an enabler of Teh Establishment since its inception, and hates anything that inconveniences its "nice" readership in any way, shape, or form. They attacked civil rights before the Upper East Side types that they consider their core audience started supporting it, they attacked feminism before the Upper East Side Types they consider their core readership supported it, and they attacked gay rights before the Upper East Side, etc., etc., etc. (Actually, scratch that last one—the NYT is STILL pretty iffy on LGBTQ rights overall!)

How did they become The Newspaper of Record, again?

not an update; just reshared for folks who hadn’t seen it.

Oh!

Yeah, I thought it read awfully familiar....
