I plan on renewing my subscription and enjoy the sincere reads and cat photos. I especially liked your newest article (that is a throwback) about marriage (partnership) and why we deserve for it to be easy. Couldn’t agree more. That’s my partner and my motto.

My cat and dachshund send a friendly pet hello to your pet family. To keep it Midwest, ya’all have a good one.

I´m perfectly happy to re-up, but Substack, for reasons I do not understand, will not let me renew my sub until it expires. (This issue has happened with other substacks, so.) Will renew on the 20th, OK?

that's very kind of you!

I can imagine it's tricky with payment processors to renew early...? idk.

{comes running back in from beating out Duolingo deadline} No sweat, man! It's weird that substack got all weird over the Nazi thing and half the people I was subscribed to left and now Notes is kind of strange and I'm a little leery of using it, but I am not abandoning people (i.e. Ganz, Alicia et al) just because it got a little strange.

I don't it's the payment processor - I think they just coded it for auto-renewal and there's no code to support anything else. Substack tends to be more focused on adding features and tends less things a little half-assed. (It's still messed up that there's no html markup in comments, but it's in chat or something. 🤦🤷)

now it's time to run back out and try to mow the backyard before it gets dark 🤣

You have a rare give for making despair actually hilarious. I’m teaching poetry to 7th graders this month and I’ll be using some of your work. Thank you.
