Your poetry columns are like a graduate level course, and I mean that in a good way. I was a literature major and I appreciate both your poetry and your analysis of other poets.
I got your book in the mail yesterday and I’m setting aside time Monday to give it my full attention. The poem about marital forgetfulness is relatable- when we got married I wasn’t a teacher, and our date was September 15th, which is right when school starts here. So we chose a different day in August to celebrate, but we can never remember, so it shifts. I figure after 10 years, you can relax about exact dates. Just keep being happy to be married to your spouse (most of the time).
