I had a problem with using the word "evil". Now corrected. I still learn.

Assumed it was evil vs divine and in that context I don't understand either. GIGO.

But here's Merriam Webster under "evil"

adjective: 1 a) morally reprehensible : sinful, wicked

an evil impulse

an evil tyrant

noun: 2) something that brings sorrow, distress, or calamity

In learning mode I ask DuckyGo "trump considers options on greenland".

Results for: CNN, Politico, USA Today, BBC, Fox News, The Hill, AP News, ABC News.

Yeah, I now agree. Why can't they call it Evil?

[besides that it's insane and demented]

Yes, “evil” is not a word that I recall ever hearing in msm or politics. Maybe because previously the evil was less obvious? Maybe because of the religious implications? Maybe because msm and politicians prefer hedging to more definitive adjectives?

Of course, all of that is out the window now, for better or worse.

I am so with you- however anyone (politicians) may pine for a past time when politics were seemingly more civilized, that time inevitably led us here, and we should have done better, always.

America is never going to make it unless we can face the truth about who we are and why.

I think the why is key.

Without repairing this nation’s original foundations of racism, sexism, and genocide for free land and free labor we cannot start at any given moment and call that point zero.

If I offend or hurt someone, I owe a repair, reparations, a hand up, giving back what I took.

Imagine 95% of white people in this country supporting reparations for centuries of the most abject slavery.

I envision that as an effective starting point. It is one of my goals.

At this point I'm convinced Schumer is actively working with Republicans behind the scenes.

Begging Bernie Sanders to fuck off forever and let some younger progressives try to actually do stuff instead of just whining about the class war (while ignoring racism/sexism) and then complaining you couldn't be the nominee for the party that you always thought you were too good for.

Schumer has a point in calling his actions "quixotic", though. Don Quixote and Trump are both deranged old men with political power who only see the world through their very personalized view of it, and their power isolates them from the majority of the consequences of their actions. Quixote had Sancho Panza to aid and abet him, and Trump has a whole political party of Sanchos on his side (though not as many as he once had).

The difference is that Quixote was ultimately able to admit that he was not acting in his right mind on his deathbed, and I hardly see that happening with Trump.

Quixote was also noble if confused. trump is confused but not noble.

Quixote saw himself as a knight errant and acted like one. Whereas Trump doesn’t grasp what gallantry means.

Schumer could have come up with a more accurate word that Trump doesn't know the definition of, it wouldn't even have taken that long. What else exactly is he doing? Damned if I can tell what it is.

Flagitous might work although it needs a bit more...something. incoherently flagitous?

i think the gateway drug for this wave of all his international evil will-to-power-but-lazy episodes was his very early "gulf of america" bull crap.

if he just names it (or re-names it) it's kinda his. but if he gets resistance he tacos. that may have happened today with this Greenland brouhaha, but the Europeans will probably hafta stay strongly resistant.

as to the Democrats, though every now and then a glimmer of leadership (usually from the ranks, not the leaders) they as much just muddy the water as really show us the way out of this mess. somehow the american people are gonna hafta save ourselves.

DR Darke's avatar

The Dems in charge, like Schmuck Schumer and Brake Sir Hakeem, are willing to give Trump a pass on Greenland and Iceland because he's pro-Netanyahu, just like they are.

I am SICK of mainstream Democrats! I was unhappy with them after Bill Clinton's first term, but trying to shove Hillary Rodham Clinton down our throats over Bernie Sanders was when I decided I'd HAD it with the Democratic Party—and don't give me any of that "My Qween $Hillary won fair and square WHAAAHHH!" bullshit, either! She cheated Bernie out of the Democratic nomination is what she did, and made President Donald Trump a reality, period paragraph.

So FUCK Hillary and the current Democratic Party. Absent Bernie Sanders and The Squad, they should be replaced as quickly as we can get rid of the Traitor Republicans....
