The Presidency is not an office that should show such a lack of decorum that Trump displays daily. As a Canadian, I think his trying to put the economic hurt on us is very odd and sad; our relations with the U.S. haven't been this bad since Lyndon Johnson told Lester Pearson not to piss on his rug...

Sad, yeah, but not odd. It's entirely in line with everything conservatives have ever stood for. Bigoted nativism, white Christian supremacy, and gunboat diplomacy.

The only odd thing is that it took this long for someone like trump to show up. People like him are the inevitable end result of a right wing political party gaining dominance.

We already went through the right-wing dominance thing when Stephen Harper was PM. Not a happy time.

From The Protocols of the Elders of Zion to Foundations of Geopolitics or Project Russia, Russia remains an expansionist parasite on the international community.

Where are the Jewish organizations?

Too busy sucking up to "Bibi the Butcher" Netanyahu to care!

Actually, Jewish Voice For Peace came out early and strong with very well organized public demonstrations, when the genocide first ramped up.

I like that level of activism, rooted in analysis and organization.

So are we looking at a David and Goliath theme paralleling what’s on the ground in Palestine?

Well, jvp is not for the most part getting murdered; but adl and aipac are way better funded for sure.

Yes, Jewish Voice for Peace came out in opposition to what was going on in the Gaza long before anybody else did—which is why I don't usually think of them when I think "Jewish Organizations", most of whom seem a lot closer to AIPAC and ADL!

It's like Sojourners and Faithful America, both Christian organizations I admire—so when you talk "Christian groups" I don't think of them because they're not hateful and evil like Franklin Graham or Falwell's Demon Spawn....
