I've been telling people she would be a great VP with Pete Buttigieg at the head of the ticket, and I would still be very pleased if the order there were reversed. Elizabeth Warren as SecTreas, Bernie Sanders as SecDef, Gavin Newsome as SecState, and you can find lots of fine progressives to fill the other ones. The last time I contributed to a Presidential candidate was 1972 when I was 20 years old and gave George McGovern $25. I'm ready to do that again for this upcoming Presidential election, but at a higher dollar level.
I'm nearly holding my breath hoping that none of the six "contrary" SCOTUS members live long enough to have a Dem President replace some or all (we can hope!) with someone with a wee bit of common sense well distanced from any form of originalism/textualism. I still consider Alito and Thomas to be two of the most dangerous men in America today.
I really dislike Newsom and don't want him near power of any sort. He's also a Zionist who denies the genocide in Israel; very much doubt that AOC would appoint someone like that to that position.
I was unaware of the Israel connection. I'm against genocide by anyone regardless of who (person like Bibi) or where (country like Israel) that killing occurs. I'll investigate him further and modify my opinion, which was formed ONLY because he gets lots of mention from the media. Pritzger may indeed be better? Not sure, but lots of time to solidify my opinions. Thanks, Noah :)
AOC/Crockett is my dream ticket. I think Talarico would be better utilized in the Senate because he speaks Evangelical in a way that is both loving and a rebuke.
There's a real possibility that 2028 will be the best time to run for president for Democrats in our lifetimes. As you point out, Obama capitalized on the opportunity 2008 afforded Democrats. But the writing was on the wall in 2006 when Democrats took back Congress with massive gains at every level. 2008 was just an extension of the backlash to Republicans.
We're seeing a similar if not even stronger backlash now with Democrats seemingly everywhere overperforming "fundamentals". So it's very possible this is 2008 but even more magnified given some of the wild swings we're already seeing. If that's the case it's the perfect time for an actual leftist candidate to take the chance.
Actually governing might not be as conducive for success as Obama since we probably won't have 60 votes in the Senate like he did for a short time. But you gotta shoot your shot. And not only is obviously important to finally get a woman and Hispanic person in the presidency. But I think we're desperately in need for a young person to get power. That could be just as important as having a female Hispanic person in office.
I like her, but I’ve gotten this sense from leftists that she has somehow “sold out.” In my view, she’s just been trying to navigate a dicey situation all this time: an extremist GOP and Democrats who don’t mind the status quo. I think she’d make a good president, and will support her candidacy if she puts her hat in the ring.
Thirty-six is REALLY young. I'm more inclined to support her taking Schmuck Schumer's Senate seat for a term or two, and become the new Left voice in the Senate to both work with Bernie Sanders and, when the time comes, take his place.
She wouldn't even be fifty if she ran after two terms as Senator.
I think she would make a good VP at this time. I do not think she has yet the credentials and authoritative presence to win the election. (What are the demographics of AOC's supporters? )Kamala Harris showed us that and set back the possibility of a woman being elected president. I worked for her but not enthusiastically. I am not concerned that an amendment will get passed by the necessary number of state legislatures to allow Trump to run again. I am concerned that Vance will be nominated for the presidency and Trump as VP.
I'd love to see her run!! I'd be out in my area helping and promoting!

Sanders is going to be 87 in 2029! so I doubt he's in the cabinet. warren will be in her late 70s, so I suppose that's possible?
I'd hope that AOC would put Lina Khan in charge of antitrust again...

very much doubt she’d pick another house member like crockett. Pritzker seems like an obvious possibility?
Pritzker certainly has the bonafides. Wes Moore would be an excellent choice, as well.
I don’t know much about Moore, but people seem to like him.

I think it may be the cycle for a young candidate (she’ll be 39 though in 2029.)
