In fact, this is the flip side of that column about "class-first Progressives" you wrote a while back that really impressed me, Noah. While he seems more aware of race it seems subsumed in his own version of a class argument (Front of the Class Students vs. Back of the Class Students), and as you pointed out bigotry has always been a way for the haves to deflect the attention of the have-nots away from their pasty White soft and juicy flesh.
So critical to explore these issues. No single one of us ranges far enough into the social strata - front row or back row- to experience the lives of others, I think. Over a lifetime we might have known, or at least met enough people to form legitimate opinons. Arnade’s efforts are welcome.
