A thing I love about this movie is that Gentile viewers might never pick up on the Jewishness at the film’s core, while for Jewish audiences this film is more Jewish than Yentl

I laughed out loud when one of the first things they mentioned in the film was Sandy Koufax!

the quip about the Rabbi lecturing on the psychology of insult comedians is also solid gold.

Ha, yes! The characters are basically screaming at dinner, “Oy vey, the schmaltz at Kellerman’s is worse than the gribenes at Grossinger’s”
