It's astounding the number of things many Democrats think drive voting behavior and polling but actually don't really matter much, at least compared to bigger things like racism/sexism, partisanship, and vibes. Like they fundamentally don't understand how politics works. Otherwise they probably wouldn't keep trying to be Republican lite.
The word "middle" TELLS you that there is another level which is lower, and thus obviously requires more economic relief. Lamenting the plight of the middle-class without acknowledging this has been going on as long as I can remember, and has always been gross. Also: I'd like to know how DNC focus groups are run (or if they truly happen), because Dem politicians clearly suck at listening.
" Democrats need to tell all of these neoliberal dopes that Booker’s plan, and all those like it, are a nonstarter—a shit policy and shit strategy which will benefit no one but Trump and his rancid ilk."
The problem is that the people running the Democratic Party ARE the NeoLiberals—they think this way not because it's a political calculation, but because it's what THEIR Billionaire Donors tell them! Cory Booker, who took Big Pharma money and single-handedly wrecked Bernie Sanders's attempt to negotiate lower drug prices with Canada, absolutely looks in the mirror and tells himself, "I'm better-looking than Obama—why *shouldn't* I be President?"
Booker's one of my Senators now, and while I don't hate him like I hate my former Senator Schmuck Schumer? He is very much, to quote Sir William Gilbert, "An Apologetic Statesman of a Compromising Kind", and made the calculus a long time ago that It's His Turn to Be President. 🙄

An incredibly bad idea, brought to you by Vichy Democrats.
"Louis, this could be the start of beautiful friendship...."

"What if we tried being even MORE Republican?" Democrats. Again.
This sounds like the “taxation is theft!” bullshit my self-proclaimed Libertarian so-called friends idiotically spew
Gaghh!

DNC focus groups are run to justify the conclusions the Party Elites (sorry, but that's what they are) want them to come to.

I guess if you squint hard, you could say he looks a little like Milhouse's dad, but the dude's name is actually Van Hollen ;)
oh god damn it.
