This excellent analysis of Sheeran’s complicity applies not just to those with a public profile. No matter who we are, studied apolitical inaction does not equal peace and justice. It equals complicity and indifference. Private views are irrelevant in the face of inertness. Meaning well is inconsequential if we do nothing (or, worse, do harm) when it counts. Thanks for the reminder!

I find it pathetic that the likes of Ms. Rachel and Macklemore have to be the ones putting their careers on the line because so many of their fellow elites are either giant cowards or giant racist assholes. But good on them for doing what so many won't.

Also I think I've seen that Sheeran is a big Buffy fan and motherfucker you better keep Buffy Anne Summers' name out of your mouth if you aren't going to do what she does and fight for those who can't fight for themselves.
