Either way- America is immoral — and has been since the genocide of the Indigenous Americans, who now live in abject poverty, with no running water or electricity.
I think it frames what appears to me to be Israel’s copying the founding narrative of our own nation.
Stealing land for expansion and gaining free wealth. In our case, it was through slavery, and in Israel’s case it is through, massive annual subsidies from the US about which we also seem helpless to stop.
It’s hard to describe ourselves as free if we can’t stop our country from funding genocide.

Palestinians aren't white (I mean, whiteness is a moving target, but Palestinians are intensely racialized in both the US and Israel.)
I think there are a range of reasons as to why the US public is more focused on Israel, but I think the two main ones are:
1. US support for Israel makes people feel implicated (and I think rightly so,) and
2. US liberal identity as virtuous/egalitarian since WW II at least has been linked to inclusion of Jewish people/Jewish rights in complicated ways,
3. US evangelical Christian right is hyperfocused on Israel because of millenarian prophecies and Islamophobia
