I mean in my opinion Biden and Garland were way too easy on Trump after the whole idk goddamn coup attempt? To complain that Biden didn't do even less is just being ridiculous. I'm not sure how he COULD have done much less than he has. Biden DIDN'T do much of anything to Trump. And the MAGA crowd have ran with the lack of accountability as a sign of either Trump's innocence of trying to stay in office illegally, because if someone had ACTUALLY lost the election and fomented an armed takeover of the Capitol they'd be arrested immediately.

I don't know what I expected to happen to Trump and his minions after January 6, but it was NOT the nothing that has. I never thought I'd see people literally threatening to kill members of the government and then be allowed to get in fucking their cars and go home.

The partisanship of Democrats is clear and present. Still, Republican partisans amplify their partisan rancor due to their demographic deficiencies and financial donors, who don't feel obligated to support public goods or real sustainability. That makes Republican partisans drastically more energized than Democratic partisanship. Romney is a person of privilege and has some elitism attached to him. He can be respected for the times he spoke out against Trump but also should be called out for reinforcing false equivalencies and frames that only serve his own cognitive dissonance. His father saw the party turn to racial animus and Gilded Age shenanigans in the late 1960s, and now he is watching the culmination of that process.
