Pundits and would be pundits spend a great deal of time chastising Democrats for messaging failures. Assholes like Matt Yglesias insist that if only Democrats would abandon some marginalized people, they’d sweep into office on a platform of health care for all and economic growth.  Good intentioned folks like Will Stancil on twitter argue Ds will sweep into office if they embrace a clear moral stance on abortion and civil rights. Attack Republicans more vigorously; adopt a conciliatory stance towards Republicans; focus on the bipartisan deals; focus on the base; emphasize economics; emphasize optimism; tweak this ad; adjust that speech. Everybody has a recipe for Democratic victory and Republican defeat.
