"The Stupids", is VERY loosely based on a series of children's books - the first one is called "The Stupids Step Out". These books are a series of jokes on the Stupid family in the vein of the "too literal" jokes in "Amelia Bedelia". These books are hilarious but far too thin on plot to make into a movie.
Now I’m wracking my brain to figure out what movie to commission- it has to be something I liked but wouldn’t be too bummed if it’s ripped to shreds.

My kid and I liked The Dumb Bunnies better, even though The Stupids we’re books I’d read as a kid.
