I love that picture and would like to share it on my FB dog page, Our Canine Chronicles, with attribution of course. I understand if you'd rather not.

I thought you were VERY young until I read you have an older child. I thought you were in your twenties to early thirties. However, I didn’t get around to mentioning this. I don’t know why I assumed you were very young but you take it as a compliment that your writing is hip. (Though I am neither young nor hip so maybe not the most exciting compliment as what do I know?)

Yeah, I’m old, alas. But thank you!

Ppl mistake me for younger because my hair isn’t gray and my career is…unimpressive for a more aged writer, I think…

No! It’s the way you THINK. It’s very lively and varied and open. You are curious about a lot of different things, and you want to figure things out. You seem aware of things that older writers don’t care about but younger writers do care about, like the way identity is represented in media. (I used to think this was not so important and it was younger writers who clued me in that it is not.) You care more than most older people so maybe the world has not defeated your spirit yet, LOL.
