I had a similar journey before I left 350.org.
The founder teaches at a college here in Vermont. When that rural college invited a speaker known for his antiquated, genetic racism the 350.org founder defended this invitation on the basis of Free speech.
The college only changed its mind after noisy demonstrations by largely Black students …

The college only changed its mind after noisy demonstrations by largely Black students and community members.
I raise this problem of clear, racial bias with a few people in my local 350 chapter, and got radio silence. I don’t know if their response would’ve been different were I a person of color, but I doubt the outcome would’ve been different.
